Lionel Messi was finally crowned as The best player in Europe. This Barcelona star was beating two other competitors : Xavi Hernandez and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The announcement was read out after Champions League group drawing Monaco on Friday (26/08/2011) pm dawn. Messi get more votes than Xavi and Ronaldo.
The voting conducted by 53 sports journalists representing each member of UEFA, Messi, collecting 38 votes. Xavi won over only 11 votes and Ronaldo are only three.
Messi was brilliant last season. Besides bringing Barca win La Liga and the Champions League, this Argentine players also scored 53 goals, including 12 goals in the Champions League that makes it a top scorer in European club tournaments such.
